Digital Scholarly Editions as Interfaces Symposium

On the 23rd and 24th September 2016 the Centre for Information Modelling and DiXiT organized a symposium titled "Digital Scholarly Editions as Interfaces" at the University of Graz. The conference was organized by Georg Vogeler, Christian Steiner, Walter Scholger, Gerlinde Schneider, Frederike Neuber, Helmut Klug, Selina Galka, Hans Clausen, Martina Bürgermeister und Roman Bleier. Over hundred experts from all over the world participated in this event and contributed through fascinating presentations and lively discussions.

For the following year we plan to publish a conference volume of selected papers.

Conference Report

Organization of the „DiXiT meets IDE Spring School“ on „Advanced XML/TEI technologies“

April 13-17, 2015

After the first successful DiXiT camp in Graz the idea for another camp for advanced XML/TEI users emerged, this time in collaboration with the Institute for Documentology and Digital Editing. From ZIM Frederike Neuber, Martina Scholger, Gunter Vasold and Georg Vogeler were involved in teaching and were joined by the experts of the IDE as well as again by the DiXiT partners from Oxford. For the evenings, besides a lecture by Tara Andrews, an excursion to a traditional Styrian Buschenschank was planned.

Contribution to the third DiXiT camp “Academia, Cultural Heritage, Society“

February 12, 2015 – University of Borås

At the third DiXiT camp at the University of Borås in Sweden, Johannes Stigler and Gunter Vasold were involved in teaching with a presentation on „Digital Preservation and Archiving“.

Organization of the second DiXiT camp on „XML/TEI for Digital Scholarly Editions – Standards, tools and software“

September 14-19, 2014

The second DiXiT camp in Graz was dedicated to the TEI, its functionalities and usage. For one week the participants from Europe, North America and South America immersed in the world of digital scholarly editing. From ZIM, Martina Scholger and George Vogeler were teaching classes. Further the DiXiT partners from Oxford as well as staff members of the projects TextGrid, oXygen and CollateX were involved in teaching.  The intensive schedule was completed by three evening lectures and an excursion to a traditional Styrian Buschenschank.
